Two of Rutgers most successful and charitable NFL alumni, Jason and Devin McCourty are being honored at Embrace Kids Foundation’s 25th Annual “Evening for the Kids” on October 30, 2024 at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ. “Evening for the Kids” is a fundraising dinner and auction filled with supporters including patient families, Rutgers and RWJ dignitaries and many of the McCourty’s former teammates.
The McCourty Twins have decorated on field resumes, each playing 13 years in the NFL and winning a combined 4 Super Bowls before transitioning into their current roles as sportscasters. Jason serves as a game analyst for CBS Sports and is a weekly contributor on ESPN’s Get Up, NFL Live, First Take and Sportscenter. Devin currently serves as a studio analyst for NBC’s Football Night in America and is a game analyst for Westwood One Radio broadcasts of NFL games.
While the McCourty Twins are known for their professional accomplishments, it’s their work in the community that truly defines their legacy. In 2013, they founded Tackle Sickle Cell, a nonprofit formed in partnership with Embrace Kids Foundation to provide support and advocacy for sickle cell disease. Their commitment to Embrace Kids has brightened the lives of hundreds of families and has brought national attention to sickle cell disease through their prominent careers as NFL players and in their current roles as broadcasters. To date, Tackle Sickle Cell has raised over 2.5 million dollars net profit to support families battling sickle cell.
While playing in the NFL, the Twins were nominated for countless community awards including the Walter Payton Man of the Year (5x), The Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian and in 2016 were inducted into the Rutgers University Hall of Distinguished Alumni, the highest honor any alumnus can receive.
Embrace Kids Foundation is a New Brunswick, New Jersey based non-profit organization serving families battling pediatric cancer and blood disorders, including sickle cell disease.
