The addition represents another significant milestone in a broadcasting career that has ascended as quickly and impressively as his playing days and places Jason in one of the most prominent studio seats in all of football television.
Each Monday night, Jason will bring his sharp football intelligence, engaging personality, and more than a decade of NFL experience to one of the sport’s most iconic pregame shows, setting the stage for Joe Buck and Troy Aikman’s Monday Night Football broadcast on ESPN. The timing couldn’t be more fitting. Jason joins Monday Night Countdown entering his third season with ESPN, having already established himself as a trusted voice across the network’s daily NFL lineup, appearing regularly on NFL Live, Get Up, First Take, and SportsCenter. Earlier this year, ESPN re-signed Jason to a new multi-year agreement, a clear signal of the network’s confidence in him as a central pillar of their NFL coverage, particularly as ESPN prepares for its historic first presentation of the Super Bowl in February 2027. Adding Monday Night Countdown to his portfolio puts Jason at the center of one of the biggest nights in professional football every single week.
What makes this moment even more special is the storyline it creates alongside his twin brother, Devin. With Devin serving as an analyst on NBC’s Football Night in America on Sundays and Jason now anchoring ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown desk, the McCourty Twins will hold two of the most prominent primetime broadcast positions in the NFL on back-to-back nights, on two of the sport’s biggest networks. It is a remarkable achievement for two brothers who grew up in Nyack, New York, attended Rutgers together and spent three seasons as teammates on the New England Patriots; becoming the first twins in history to win a Super Bowl together.
A 13-year NFL veteran who was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft, Jason went on to play for the Titans, Cleveland Browns, Patriots, and Dolphins before retiring in 2022 and diving headfirst into the media world. He was immediately recognized for his talents as a co-host on NFL Network’s Emmy Award-winning Good Morning Football, earning the Sports Illustrated Sports Media Award for Best Replacement before expanding his role at CBS Sports and ultimately joining ESPN ahead of the 2024 season.
